Consecration Sunday 2007
St. Anne's annually celebrates Consecration Sunday - the
yearly opportunity for all the parish to gather and establish
the giving totals for the year.
Filling out pledge cards might not sound enjoyable, but St.
Anne's community has tried to invest this opportunity with the
appropriate joy. Special speakers are brought in, prayer
is encouraged and special group dinner all contribute to a celebratory
mood.

The kids got to go through the line first - lunch was
provided by the Des Moines Area Community College Culinary
Program - hmmm!

The Consecration Sunday organizing was led by Erik and Mary
Gjullin. Above - Erik and Treasurer Tyler Schleicher
delivered the pledge tally for the upcoming year - with a
projected increase of 18.3%!

Quilting for Homeless Youth
Consecration Sunday was also an opportunity to sell raffle
tickets for the Iowa Homeless Youth Center endowment.
Mary Hanson and Lorene Harris sold tickets for the queen
size quilt made of vintage feed sacks.
Homeless House
The St. Anne's Youth planned to participate in
Reggie's Sleep Out at Drake University. To prepare,
they built their "house" built from cardboard, complete with a
"welcome" mat.
As reminder of the less fortunate, the cardboard house was
placed in the Sanctuary for the Consecration Sunday services.
