International
Family
St. Anne's encourages an active spiritual life for all its
members. The Episcopal
Church of the United States is part of the world-wide
Anglican Communion.
The Anglican Communion is a voluntary association of churches
that span the traditional Church of England, Episcopal Church
of the United States and other churches as far as Papua New
Guinea and Uganda.
The Anglican Communion unites millions of Christian
worshipers globally. St. Anne's recognizes and embraces
this international community of Church members. The
congregation includes families from many nations of origin.
The varied experiences and traditions brought by all St.
Anne's members shape us into the community that we are.
The international flavor of St. Anne's takes many forms.
It may be a Sudanese music one Sunday service or traditional
foods from the Philippines for a small group.
We simply
ask all members to participate in our blended worship and
bring their various traditions to share with us.
Father
Vincent Bete, a native of the Philippines, joined our
congregation in the Spring of 2007. As an ordained
minister, we were very lucky he chose to emigrate and serve
with the St. Anne's congregation.
In a recent
visit by our Bishop, he asked how many nations were
represented at our Sunday Service? Consensus was eight
different nations were represented in the congregation that
morning.
St. Anne's
also supports ministry outside our national boundaries.
Two young people affiliated with St. Anne's are involved in
international ministry -
Harper McConnell
in the Congo and Hillary Hanson in the Ukraine.
