Bible Study

Weekly Bible Studies

Adult Bible Study – Sundays: 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the Parish Hall every Sunday. Nooma is the title of a series of short films that explore our world from the perspective of Jesus. Nooma is an invitation to search, question, and join the discussion of what God is really doing right here, right now. Everyone can be part of it. Jesus inspired, challenged, provoked, confronted, invited, challenged, provoked and comforted people to be open to God’s work in this world. Facilitator is Doug Karlen or Lorene Harris.

Mill Pond Bible Study: 2:15 p.m. Mondays. This Study covers the Old and New Testament, the Psalm and Gospel for each week prior to their use on our Sunday morning worship. This study is an attempt to see the scriptures not only separately, but also as a whole. Deacon Kathy Tripses and Joann Olson facilitate this study at the retirement community of Mill Pond located on South East Delaware in Ankeny. Call Deacon Kathy Tripses at 515-964-2907 for more information or to assist with this study.

Kerygma: This course is offered on Tuesdays mornings at 10:00 a.m. Called the Kerygma, or “proclamation”, our study provides a challenge to our members by offering an in depth study of the Bible in small groups. We offer all attendees the ability to grow and deepen their knowledge of scriptures. This is our chance to explore the Good News of God lived out in the life and death of Jesus Christ.
Our study is for all adult learners from beginner to advanced who wish to study the Bible in depth. This study teaches the basics and complexities of the Bible, helping us to develop skills for interpreting scriptures and then how to apply our learning from the Bible to personal and corporate life in today’s world.

OSL Bible Study: The International Order of St. Luke the Physician offers a nine-week Bible Study for adults who wish to dig deeper into the Christian belief that the healing of the body, mind and spirit is a vital part of the total ministry of Jesus Christ. Luke 4:16-21 is Jesus call to the healing ministry. In addition to the Bible Study, the local chapter titled Living Waters meets monthly in the Des Moines metro area and is open to Christians of all denominations. Contact Fr Bob Kem, Chaplain of the Living Waters Chapter. You may also find information on the www.orderofstluke.org. Feel free to browse or contact Fr. Bob Kem facilitator for the OSL Bible Study 964-5152.
