Neighbor to Neighbor or N2N is the name of the umbrella ministries to which we are called in order to serve the needs of those families who geographically live around us and are the neighbors God has given to us at St. Anne’s.
Here are some simple ways that we might accomplish the command to love our neighbors and welcome them into our community.
Monthly Dinners. Generally held on the last Sunday of every month at 5:00 pm a dinner is provided at St. Anne’s served by its members. This includes a time of socialization and coming together to listen and share our lives with one another. All are welcome from the Ankeny community. Check our church calendar to find the next N2N Monthly Dinner meal.
Community Gardens were added in 2015. Nine gardens are offered to neighbors who may wish to grow their own vegetables in the summer and share them with others. The cost is $10 and the promise to pull your own weeds. More information about the community gardens can be found at this link.
Show and Shine Car Show held each summer on the Saturday afternoon following the Ankeny SummerFest Parade. We hold this on the front lawn at St. Anne’s, 2110 West First Street. Any donations raised help to fund the cost of the show and the Neighbor 2 Neighbor Ministries. Food, registration, prizes and giveaways are all part of the show. You might consider volunteering your time at the show or find a sponsor for our N2N ministries. For more information about last year’s event, check out this link.
